Tall Red Oak & English Oak Table Lamp

A distinctive tall table lamp, handmade in my Northampton workshop using a combination of old rustic red oak and new English oak.

The upright is made from an old piece of red oak, approximately 5.5 × 4.8 cm, set into a solid 15 × 15 cm English oak base. The wood is finished with wood dye and beeswax, with the base finished in beeswax.

Jute rope is used around the wooden upright as both a cable covering and decorative detail. The lamp is fitted with a chrome E27 lamp holder, integrated rocker switch, UK plug and felt pads underneath.
